Basic Info BioI'm a fairly newly registered midwife. I am one of the first group of midwives educated in Australia that aren't nurses. I've also completed honours in midwifery on a topic that's probably a bit full on to be in my public profile. If you want to know about it, feel free to ask, but don't say I didn't warn you! I'm very interested in women's healthcare, particularly maternity care. I have a special interest in homebirth, community based services and one-to-one midwifery care. As a complete contrast, my other professional area of interest is neonatal nursery care.
Apart from midwifery, my major interest/hobby is singing. I sing in two university choral societies (although am taking a bit of a break from one at the moment), and am very involved in the social side of choir. I also sing in a church choir which is a lot of fun and a great learning experience, although I'm still getting used to going to church every Sunday as this is something I've never before done.
For the most part I'm a bit of a lurker on LJ. I don't update very often, but I do read my friend's posts regularly. Occasionally I'm even inspired to make a post of my own.
